Is this gambling?
No. fair-arc is a skill-gated prize competition, not gambling. Every entrant must pass a math, trivia, or word puzzle challenge before they can enter. There is no element of pure chance at the entry level — you earn your spot. The selection mechanism is provably fair and cryptographically transparent.
How does "provably fair" work?
Here's the plain English version — no tech jargon. Before an Arc's selection runs, the system generates a secret answer and locks it in a sealed envelope (a published code that everyone can see). Nobody — not even us — can change what's inside that envelope after it's sealed. When all 10 slots fill and the countdown ends, the system opens the envelope, and the answer inside determines the winner. After the winner is announced, we show everyone the original secret so they can verify it matches the sealed envelope. If they match, you know the result was decided before anyone entered. It's the same idea as a notarized document — proof that nobody changed the answer after the fact. Can anyone rig the results — even fair-arc?
No. Here's why: the sealed envelope (the hash) is published before the selection runs. The math behind it is a one-way street — you can work forward (secret → envelope) but you cannot work backward (envelope → secret). That means nobody can find a different secret that produces the same envelope code. Not us, not a hacker, not a supercomputer. The winning answer is baked in the moment the envelope is sealed. After the fact, anyone on Earth can verify it. We also encrypt the secret while it's stored, so even a database breach wouldn't expose it before the selection runs.
What if I don't win?
That's the nature of a 10-slot event — 9 out of 10 won't win each Arc. But entry fees are priced at 25-30% of retail value across all 10 slots, so you're getting a fair shot at premium products at a fraction of the price. And every Arc is independently verifiable, so you know it was a fair selection.
